This project allows you to teach English in a primary school which is situated about 20 minutes walk away from the centre. You would generally have to invent your own lesson plan but there is wide range of material to assist you here at Machu Picchu.
Lessons last approximately 45 minutes and class sizes are big but do not exceed 40 kids. The work is stimulating and thoroughly rewarding, the kids are generally very well behaved, keen to learn and quick to treat you as their new best friends! At the moment our volunteers are teaching three classes of 10 year olds three times a week but we hope to open up more teaching possibilities in the near future. Naturally this depends on how many volunteers we get!
